Road trip in the UK

England flag mini cooper carThe Start and the car
I started the trip by taking a plane to Brighton. At the airport, a red mini with a UK flag on top of it waited for me. I figured that since my road trip took place in the UK, a red mini cooper with a UK flag on it would be the perfect car. Just the driving takes 7 hours and 41 minutes without any stops, but that was not my plan… My plan was quite simple, for every new day, I was going to visit one new city. The rout was long, but the car was in good condition so there were no problems with the car at all.

                      This was my driving route:

1.      Brighton
2.      London
3.      Birmingham
4.      Manchester
5.      Newcastle upon Tyne

Day one - Brighton
I started the road trip in Brighton. The only plan I had for Brighton was to visit an old cinema at Horts. It was cool to see, because they had kept the old look in there so it kind of felt like you lived back in the days. There was 26 sets in the cinema. Every one of them     had a blanket, a pillow and a small table on the side. When I was done at the cinema, I went to take a walk at the Brighton pier. Brighton pier (Old Chain pier) was from 1823 originally a pier used as a landing stage for passenger ships that sailed from Dieppe in France. There has been a lot of history here, but in 1984, the pier got a new owner. Major changes were introduced such as free admission, free deck chairs, new food outlets on the forecourt and a traditional fish & chips restaurant.
Day two – London
It was day two and London was the next city to visit. I had been exited for this city for a long time, I’ve always wanted to visit London. First on the list of things to do in London was to visit Madame Tussauds. It was a lot of fun to walk around and see all the well-known characters and celebrities. They looked so real it almost scared me! When I walked around a corner, I actually thought I saw a real celebrity. After Madame Tussauds I went to see Big Ben before I drove to Astor Court Hotel where I was planning to spend the night. Before it was time to go bed I went shopping in Oxford Street. I was really tired after a long day in London, so I went to bed to prepare for Birmingham. This is outside Madame Tussauds.

Day three – Birmingham
When I woke up after a good night of sleep, I was ready for a new day and a new city. Today it was time to visit Birmingham. After breakfast, I drove to Birmingham F1K Track, which is a kart track. The track is 400 meters long, and has nine corners. Average lap time is 28 second, and my best time was 27 sec, so I was happy with my time. The track was inside so the weather was not any problem.
When I was finished karting I headed over to the LG arena on an Ed Sheeran concert. The atmosphere and the singing was amazing. Someone recommended a hotel in Birmingham named Eaton Hotel, so I went there to sleep.

Day four – Manchester
I had been most excited about this day. The day started at the Manchester Wheel to get a good view of the city in the 60 metre high wheel. Immediately when I was done there I went to the Old Trafford Stadium. This was definitely the best part of the trip. I went on a tour at the stadium and got to see many amazing things, like the dressing room and the lounge. In the lounge, the players can relax before and after a game with their families and teammates and do stuff like watch TV or read the newspaper. The dressing room is not just a room they change in, but it contains a spa pool, two small baths, six showers, video facilities and a warm-up room. There is also a museum at the stadium I checked out. It was a Brazilian legend named Pelé that opened the museum in 1998. Such an amazing experience!

Day five – Newcastle upon Tyne
On the last day in Newcastle I did not do anything else than to drive to the airport and take a plane home again after an incredible road trip in the UK.
